Indigo Moor Performs at the John Natsoulas Gallery

The Poetry Night Reading Series is proud to welcome back poet Indigo Moor. He will be performing on Thursday, November 17th at 8PM at the John Natsoulas Gallery at 521 1st Street in Davis.

Indigo Moor is an award-winning poet and the author two acclaimed books of poetry. His work has appeared in a number of anthologies and journals including the Xavier ReviewLA ReviewPoetry Now, and Suisun Valley Review.

His first book, Tap Root, was published in 2006 by Main Street Rag’s Editor’s Select Poetry Series. His most recent book of poetry, Through the Stonecutter’s Window, was the 2009 winner of the nationally recognized Cave Canem Northwestern University Press Poetry Prize and writing fellowship. He is also the recipient of numerous accolades including the 2005 Vesle Fenstermaker Poetry Prize for Emerging Writers and the 2008 Jack Kerouac Poetry Prize. He has been a finalist for numerous awards, such as the T.S. Eliot Prize, and in 2009 he was nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

Moor is a member of the Artist’s Residency Institute for teaching artists and leads workshops across the country. He is currently enrolled in the Stonecoast MFA program at the University of Southern Maine.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early at the John Natsoulas Gallery to secure a seat, and to sign up for a spot on the Open Mic list. The Poetry Night Reading Series, organized and hosted by Dr. Andy Jones, occurs on the first and third Thursday of every month at the John Natsoulas Gallery. Other Poetry Night performers this fall and winter will include Leonore Wilson and Joan Gelfand.
