BL

B.L. Kennedy has authored 25 books, including Jim Morrison Visits Disneyland, Screaming Pygmies, and his most recent, Been Born Bronx from Rattlesnake Press. He has been published in over a dozen different anthologies including Bliss, Rattlesnake Review, Urban Voices that Matter, and One Dog Press. He has received awards and honors throughout his career, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Sacramento Poetry Center. While earning his MFA from the Naropa Institute’s Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, he studied with Allen Ginsberg, Anne Waldman, Robert Creeley, and Kathy Acker. One of the four hosts of “Poetry Unplugged” at Luna’s Café and Juice Bar, B.L Kennedy is also Reviewer-in-Residence for the Rattlesnake Review as well as the author of the column “BL 4128 Buzz.” Kennedy directed the widely-respected film, I Began To Speak – An Informal History Of Poetry In Sacramento 1964 To 2007.
