Kitty Liang

Kitty Liang was born and raised in Beijing, China, and began writing short stories in Chinese at age thirteen, and eventually produced works in English as well. She graduated with honors from UC Davis in 2008 with a degree in English and Chinese literature. Liang was the recipient of the 2010 Elliot Gilbert Poetry Prize and has been published in numerous magazines and literary journals, including The Sacramento News Review, Gray’s Sporting Journal, Hobart, and Dead Mule School of Southern Literature. She has cited a number of poets as strong influences on her writing, especially Joe Wenderoth, a UC Davis faculty member in the English department.
