On Thursday, December 3rd, at 8 PM we will offer a poetry reading via ZOOM. To participate, visit https://ucdavisdss.zoom.us/my/andyojones at 8 PM, or a few minutes before if you wish to chat with the host and the other attendees.
This short (under 30 minutes) reading will feature poetry by James Lee Jobe and M.G. Martin.
James Lee Jobe is the reigning, undisputed, poet laureate of Davis, California. Recent anthologies that feature Jobe poetry include Voices; “AH” – The Anthology of American Haiku; The Border Crossed Us; Quiet Rooms; and Fire And Rain: Ecopoetry Of California. Periodicals that feature Jobe poetry include Chiron Review, Manzanita, Pearl, and others. His online publications include Convergence, Knot Magazine, Poetry 24, Poetry Superhighway, and The Original Van Gogh Anthology. M.G. Martin is the author of U U O U (Cyberwit, forthcoming) and One For None (Ink., 2010). His work has appeared or is forthcoming in ZYZZYVA, Bamboo Ridge, PANK, Juked, Tinfish, Sink Review, and Hobart. While living in San Francisco, M.G. co-produced and co-hosted the city’s chapter of Literary Death Match. He has performed on stages in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Portland, Boston, New York City, Seoul, and Honolulu. A Pushcart Prize nominee, M.G. was a 2018-19 W.S. Merwin Creative Teaching Fellow. He is currently pursuing a M.Ed while teaching middle school English on the island of Maui. Find him online at www.mgmartin.ink.
