NSAA Performs at the Natsoulas Gallery on September 5th, 2019 at 8 PM — join us!

NSAA as the Warrior Poet

Lawrence Dinkins, knowns poetically as NSAA [pronounced en-sah-ah] features at the Poetry Night Reading Series on Thursday, September 5that the John Natsoulas Gallery, 521 1stStreet in Davis.

Dear Friends of Poetry,

Please join us for a performance by one of Sacramento’s most dynamic and engaging poets, NSAA. Lawrence Dinkins is a poet, podcast host, poetry series host, artist, and delightful performer. Cynthia Linville describes Dinkins as “a fire and brimstone urban poet seasoned with sex, reflection, tongue-in-cheek wit, and a cautious hope in the human race. This self-described pessimistic-optimist believes poetry has purpose— beyond beautifying bookshelves. He experiments with combining poetry with music, recordings, video, and visual art.”

Frank Dixon Graham says that Dinkins’ poems “attack injustice and inhumanity. [NSAA] goes beyond the African-American experience to address all issues related to social justice, but he also writes of simpler issues related to his personal life — growing up in a world of larger than life characters that he so adeptly and richly describes in his poetry.”

Our featured poet has recently published a new book: Warrior Poet: Selected Poems of NSAA. Please join us for this special event.

Poetry Night takes place on the first and third Thursday of the month at the John Natsoulas Gallery, 521 1stStreet in Davis. The featured poet will perform until 9, at which point there will be an open mic that will last until almost 10. Please bring something to perform, and a friend. We seek always to expend the Davis poetry community. Join us!
