The Poetry Night Reading Series Hosts Hannah Stein at the John Natsoulas Gallery on April 17th at 8 pm

On Thursday, April 17th, at 8 PM at the John Natsoulas Gallery (521 First Street, Davis), the Poetry Night Reading Series is pleased to welcome the beloved poet Hannah Stein.

Hannah Stein is a local, Davis poet, whose work has been featured in such journals as Nimrod, The American Literary Review, Poetry Flash, Prairie Schooner, and Hunger Mountain. She is the author of such poetry collections as Earthlight and the chapbooks Schools of Flying Fish and Greatest Hits. Hannah Stein’s most recent chapbook, A Broken Music, reflects her attention to biography, music history, and other genres. In November of 2013, Hannah Stein read from A Broken Music at the Davis bookstore Avid Reader.
Please join us on April 17th for Hannah Stein’s third reading with the Poetry Night Reading Series.

The night will begin with few poems by Alan Humason. Alan Humason has been writing poetry since junior high. He has published his work in the likes of The Reed, Country Journal, and The Yolo Crow. He has a BA in English Literature from UC Santa Barbara. As a graduate student, he won the Grand Prize Phelan Award for poetry from San Jose State University.

The Open Mic will begin around 9 PM, and the after-party will begin around 10 PM. You are encouraged to arrive early to secure a seat, and to sign up for a spot on the Open Mic List.

The Poetry Night Reading Series, coordinated and hosted by Dr. Andy Jones, and produced by Lane Berger, takes place at the John Natsoulas Gallery on the first and third Thursday of every month. Poetry Night at the John Natsoulas Gallery is an entirely volunteer-run affair. At this month’s Poetry night, Dr. Andy will also read from his new book, Where’s Jukie?
