Sacramento Poet Laureate Jeff Knorr

The Poetry Night Reading Series is proud to welcome Sacramento Poet Laureate Jeff Knorr on Thursday, April 18th at 8 P.M. He will be performing at the John Natsoulas Gallery at 521 1st Street.
Jeff Knorr is the Poet Laureate of Sacramento. Winner of the Ray Bradbury Award in Poetry, Knorr has authored three collections of poetry: The Third Body, Standing Up to the Day, and Keeper. Also a writer of textbooks, for Prentice Hall Knorr has co-authored and co-edited Mooring Against the Tide: Writing Poetry and Fiction, A Writer’s Country, and The River Sings: An Introduction to Poetry.
Jeff Knorr’s poetry and essays have appeared widely in literary journals and anthologies, and he has been an invited judge for various awards. He was the founding co-editor and poetry editor of the Clackamas Literary Review, which won Best New Magazine in America in 1997 and in 1998. A past Chair of the English Department at Sacramento City College, Knorr has also served on the Sacramento County Office of Education Arts Executive Advisory Board. He lives in Sacramento, California.
Jeff Knorr last read for the Poetry Night Reading Series in 2008. We hope you will help us welcome him back to Davis.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early at the John Natsoulas Gallery to secure a seat, and to sign up for a spot on the Open Mic list. The Poetry Night Reading Series, hosted and produced by Andy Jones, occurs on the first and third Thursday of every month at the John Natsoulas Gallery.
