Gillian Wegener and Gerald Fleming Read at the John Natsoulas Gallery on April 21st at 8 P.M.

The Poetry Night Reading Series is proud to welcome poets Gillian Wegener and Gerald Fleming on Thursday, April 21st at 8 P.M. They will be performing at the John Natsoulas Gallery at 521 1st Street.


Gillian Wegener is one of the shining lights of Modesto poetry. Her poems have been published in In the Grove, RUNES, The Ledge, The Mad Poets’ Review, Central Valley Poetry Journal, and Zambomba, among others. She received her BA from Humboldt State University and an MA in Writing from the University of San Francisco. Born in New York, but now living in Modesto, California, Gillian Wegener teaches English at Oakdale Junior High School.

Gerald Fleming’s poetry and prose poems have appeared widely over the past thirty years. He has won numerous awards and fellowships, and between 1995 and 2000 he edited and published the literary magazine Barnabe Mountain Review, whose archives can be found at U.C. Berkeley’s Bancroft Library. His book of poems Swimmer Climbing onto Shore was published by Sixteen Rivers Press in 2005. He taught in the San Francisco public schools for thirty-seven years, and has published three books for teachers, the most recent of which is Rain, Steam, and Speed. He lives in Lagunitas, California.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early at the John Natsoulas Gallery to secure a seat, and to sign up for a spot on the Open Mic list. The Poetry Night Reading Series, organized and hosted by Andy Jones and produced by Brad Henderson, occurs on the first Wednesday of the month at Bistro 33, and third Thursday of every month at the John Natsoulas Gallery.
