The Poetry Night Reading Series is proud to welcome poets Steven Gray, Sarah Page, and Monica Storss to the Bistro 33 stage on Wednesday April 6th at 8:30 P.M. (New time!)
Steven Gray is a poet, writer and photographer based in San Francisco. He is the Assistant Editor for Out of Our, a literary magazine founded by Sarah Page, and is a member of the Revolutionary Poets Brigade, founded by Jack Hirschman. He won an Honorable Mention in the 2010 Jack Kerouac Poetry Contest, and read his winning poem, VISHWA SHANTI ANUSTHAN, at the Fourth Annual Davis Jazz Artists Festival: Beyond the Beat Generation, hosted in Davis.
Sarah Page is a San Francisco poet who publishes and edits the quarterly poetry magazine, Out of Our. She has had poems published in numerous poetry magazines, including Flying Fish, Burp, and Elephant. Sarah has performed her poetry on both coasts, and has been the featured performer of several San Francisco venues. Sarah is a member of the Revolutionary Poets Brigade and the New London School of Poetry.
Monica Storss has worked as a freelance literary publicist with Small Press Distribution, Wilderness Press, Ink Books, and individual authors, artists, and musicians. A teacher and an artist, Monica holds degrees from Paris University IV, Portland State University, and an MA in poetry from the University of California at Davis. She is widely published and has gained a reputation as a performance poet. The author of The Wonderdads Guide to San Francisco, Monica currently lives in Portland, Oregon.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early at Bistro 33 to secure a seat, and to sign up for a spot on the Open Mic list. The Poetry Night Reading Series, hosted by Andy Jones and produced by Brad Henderson, occurs on the first Wednesday of the month at Bistro 33 at 8:30 P.M., and third Thursday of every month at the John Natsoulas Gallery at 8 P.M. There is an open microphone segment after the main reading, at 9:30 at Bistro 33 and 9:00 at the John Natsoulas Gallery.
