Anara Guard’s poetry has been published in Typog, Touch II, and Hika, and she has also published nonfiction on a variety of subjects. She studied writing at the Urban Gateways Young Writers Workshop of Chicago, the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts, and the Bread Loaf Writers Conference in fiction. The Sound of One Body is her first collection of fiction; the short stories within it have been described as “strong, haunting…like small wounds, nothing fatal, but nevertheless permanent; not scars but bruises won in battle, each one a glancing blow that leaves a distinct mark.”
Anara Guard performed on December 16th, 2010.
