Rhony Bhopla and Tim Kahl Read in Davis on August 20th

Kahl and Bhopla

Dear Friends of Poetry,

Poetry Night is upon us once again, with two headliners at the John Natsoulas Gallery on August 20th: Sacramento poets Rhony Bhopla and Tim Kahl.

Tim Kahl is the author of Possessing Yourself (CW Books, 2009) and The Century of Travel (CW Books, 2012). His work has been published in dozens of highly-regarded journals, including Prairie Schooner, Mad Hatters’ Review, Indiana Review, Notre Dame Review, The Volta, Parthenon West Review, and Caliban. Kahl is editor of Bald Trickster Press, and the vice president and events coordinator of The Sacramento Poetry Center. In addition to being a poet, Tim Kahl is a translator and curator of words and images.

London-born Rhony Bhopla, an elementary school teacher, has published poems in many recognizable local journals. Her book Ceremony reflects on personal and cultural truths and discoveries. Proceeds from the sales of her latest chapbook will go to support Yolo NAMI, which its website reminds us is “a nonprofit grassroots program of education, advocacy and support dedicated to improving the lives of people with psychiatric brain disorders.” Bhopla spreads good cheer and delightful images wherever she performs.

Please join us August 20th at 8 PM at the Natsoulas Gallery in Davis.

The Poetry Night Reading Series takes place at the John Natsoulas Gallery on the first and third Thursday of every month. The featured poets begin at 8, the open mic starts at 9, and the after-party begins at 10. Poetry Night at the John Natsoulas Gallery is an entirely volunteer-run affair. We hope to see you there!
