Connie Post

Connie Post has authored seven books of poetry: Seasons of Love, Seasons of Loss; Letting Go, If I Were A Roadway, Til Divorce Do Us Part, Waking State, In a City of Words, and her newest book, Trip Wires. Her poetry has appeared in dozens of journals, including Calyx, Kalliope, Comstock Review, Chiron Review, Cold Mountain Review, Caesura, Main Street Rag, Mobius, Midwest Poetry Review Oberon, Poetalk, Pedestal Magazine, RiverSedge, Tipton Poetry Journal, The Toronto Quarterly, White Pelican Review, and Tule Review. Her poetry has also appeared in several anthologies including Marin Poetry Center Anthology 2 and When the Muse Calls – Poems for the Creative Life. Post has earned over ninety awards in various contests for her poetry including the Caesura Poetry Contest, The Dirty Napkin Cover Prize, The Lydia Wood Grand Prize, Montclair Poetry Meet, Pleasanton Poetry and Arts Contest, The Bay Area Poets Coalition Contest, Poets Dinner Contest, Poets Dinner, “Best of your Best” contest for California State Poetry Society,” and the 90th Annual Ina Coolbrith Contest (2009) in the category of ”Poets Choice.”

Connie Post is Poet Laureate Emerita of Livermore California, where she has created two new poetry series (titled “Wine and Words” and the “Ravenswood Poetry Series”) to expand the growth local arts and literature. In October of 2006, Post worked with Linda Ryan of the Tri Valley Arts Guild to develop an ekphrastic art show at the Big White House Winery.
