Dorine Jennette
Dorine Jennette was born in Seattle and received an MFA from New Mexico State University and her PhD from the University of Georgia. Her collections of essays, poems, and reviews have appeared in journals such as Puerto del Sol, the Journal, Ninth Letter, Coconut, the Los Angeles Review, and the Georgia Review. She is also the author of the anthology, Breathe: 101 Contemporary Odes, by C&R Press. Jennette’s most recent book, Urchin to Follow, was recently published by The National Poetry Review Press. Among her many accomplishments, Jennette has won The National Poetry Review Book Prize, 2008; Matt Clark Poetry Prize, New Delta Review, 2007; Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Memorial Poetry Prize for 2005; and many other noteworthy prizes and honorable mentions. We are lucky to have Doreine Jennette share her work with the Bistro 33 crowd on October 6th.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early at Bistro 33 to secure a seat, and to sign up for a spot on the Open Mic list. The Poetry Night Reading Series, hosted by Andy Jones and produced by Brad Henderson, occurs on the first Wednesday of the month at Bistro 33, and third Thursday of every month at the John Natsoulas Gallery, both at 8 P.M., with an open microphone segment at 9 P.M.
