Art Mantecón was born in Laredo, Texas and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Mantecón’s poetry and prose have appeared in several reviews and anthologies, and he has been featured at various poetry venues in Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Jose, and around the Bay Area. In 2011, his translation into English of selected p…oems of Spanish madman Leopoldo Maria Panero, titled My Naked Brain, was published by Swan Scythe Press. Davis Poet Laureate Eve West Bessier will perform a poem at the very start of this event.
